Common questions

Got questions? Here are the ones I hear the most.

Hypnotherapy is a focused, natural state where you remain aware and in control. Below are quick answers to the questions clients ask before they begin.

  • Is hypnotherapy safe? Will I lose control?

Hypnotherapy is a focused, relaxed state. You stay aware and in control throughout, and you can stop the process at any point.

  • How many sessions will I need?

It varies. Most people work with me for six or seven sessions on average. We plan based on your goals and review as we go.

  • Can hypnotherapy help with chronic pain?

Yes. Combined with Strategic Psychotherapy and practical self-regulation work, hypnotherapy can reduce pain intensity and improve function by changing how the brain and body respond to pain signals.

  • Are online sessions effective?

Yes — many clients see strong results online. A stable connection and a quiet, private space help the work.

  • What if I've tried other therapies before?

That's common. Strategic Psychotherapy focuses on what keeps a problem repeating in the present, which often complements or succeeds where earlier approaches didn't fully shift the underlying patterns.

  • Do you take insurance or rebates?

Some private health funds offer rebates for hypnotherapy depending on your level of cover. I'm happy to talk through your specific situation during your free discovery call.
